6 Helpful Tips:

1. Social Distancing
Since SARS-CoV-2 is thought to be spread by respiratory droplets, maintaining a physical distance of at least 6 feet apart is preferred.

2. Hand Washing
Soap and water (preferred for at least 20 seconds) or high alcohol concentration (>60%) hand sanitizers between washings. It is suggested that this is due to the fact that SARS-CoV-2 has been documented to live for up to 72 hours on certain surfaces.

Cleaning with soap or disinfectants destroys the outer oily protective envelope of the virus, therefore not allowing it to be infectious.

3. Covering One’s Cough
Use tissues: Then dispose properly, followed by hand washing. Sneeze into Elbow / Sleeve (not hand) when tissues are not readily available.

#4
Avoid manually touching
mouth, eyes, or nose.

5. Face Mask Usage
For the general public: The CDC, “Recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings when other social distancing means are difficult to maintain, especially in areas of significant community based transmission”. Examples include pharmacies and grocery stores. Children under the age of two years old, however, are not permitted to wear a mask. Healthcare workers have different guidelines.

6. Clean & Disinfect Frequently
Disinfect regularly touched surfaces on a daily basis by using EPA registered household disinfectants appropriate for the surface, diluted bleach, or alcohol solution with at least 70% concentration. Further details can be viewed on the CDC (Center of Disease Control) website.
